Battery First

> Battery life is the new benchmark — it’s the first thing that I look at on any new piece of hardware. We can now, finally, make the reasonable assumption that both the hardware and software is fast enough on most devices — so now what matters is portability — with battery life being the bullet point at the top of the list, set in bold.

I couldn't agree more with Ben's thoughtful piece on battery life being the most important feature for tech consumers today. There are lots of write-ups on the importance of battery life, but his introduction is what sets this one apart for me. I can identify closely with his tech priorities shifting through time (and through fluctuating bank balances). Until I read this though, I wasn't consciously aware of the shift in priorities that has taken place. Thanks Ben.
